and more. The 46th Ward is one of 50 Wards that Chicago is
divided into. The goal of a Committeeman, is to be sure that
fair voting is conducted and that there are the right amount of
Democratic and Republican judges at every election.

I was born and raised in Chicago, and have lived here all of my life. My late father Lester was an attorney, and my mother Gail, nee Pitluk (www.gailshapiro.net)is an artist. My sisters Sharon and Maura are attorneys. We all attended Stephen Decatur and Daniel Boone Elementary Schools and Mather High School. I graduated from Northwestern University Division of Continuing Education in 1980 where I obtained a Baccalaureate degree in Psychology and Communication in 1980, and then attended University of Illinois at Chicago where I obtained my Master’s Degree in Communication/Theatre in 1985. I have done continuing education in several areas, and began work on a Doctoral degree in Public Policy Analysis in 1989.

I have worked for Cook County for thirty two years, as of August 9th 2008. From 1976 through 1979 I worked in the Recorder of Deeds Office. From 1979 through 1984 I worked in the Sheriff’s Office, and until retiring in September, 2009 I worked in the Adult Probation Department’s Presentence Investigations Unit. I was elected in February of 2008 to be the 46th Ward GOP Committeeman, and am working on building a strong organization. Beside working for Cook County, I helped produce circuses for the Shrine, various state fairs and Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin over a fifteen year period, doing all of the public relations and promotion. I have been teaching Public Speaking at Triton College since 2000, am President of International Police Association, Region 4-Chicago since 2003, belong to numerous police organizations, Route 66 Illinois Association of Illinois, and am a proud member of ABATE : A Brotherhood Aimed Towards Education, which champions the rights of motorcyclists. I am on the Advisory Board of Northwestern College for the Law Enforcement Curriculum and am active in the CAPS programs in my area. I also speak several languages, including Spanish, for which I received a monthly stipend. I believe that “if you are not part of the solution, then you are a part of the problem”. In 2008 I challenged the combine politics of Cook County to run for Circuit Court Clerk, and received the endorsements of the Tribune, Sun-Times, Daily Herald and many other periodicals and organizations. I did not win, but I did not lose. It is documented that I received 28% of the Countywide vote and 37.5% of the city vote. I intend to continue to lead by example and be a clarion call for reform in Cook County.
